Brian Gregory McCullough
Obituary Overview
Brian Gregory McCullough
« Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul. »
—W.E. Henley

More importantly? He loved and was loved, excelled through his challenges, and although he set a high ba for achievement and performance, remained patient and encouraging. (It’s not easy being the smartest person in the room.)
There are certificates and trophies, newspaper clippings and so many golf shirts and ball caps which mark the people and places he contributed to.
And there are sayings and puns and shaggy dog stories that have structured how those who knew him best talk and joke together.
He believed in being kind. Please remember him with that kindness.
