Carolee Jane Pettipas

Pettipas, Carolee Jane

71 years, gained her wings on November 2, 2025, after a valiant fight against cancer. 

She was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, bonus mom, and cat whisperer.

Born at Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada on July 10, 1954, to John and Loretta (Maillet) Pettipas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

On July 3, 2010, she married her longtime partner and soulmate Cyndy Hill in Toronto, Ontario. 

She worked in Ocean Export Logistics until her retirement in 2021. She was a fierce protector and proud bonus mom to Christy (Tony) Shackleford and Evan Michael Hill. She loved them as if they were her own. 

She is survived by her brothers Bruce (Angie) Pettipas, Garrett (Joanne Sinclair) Pettipas, and sister Joann Dando, sisters-in-law Carol Stepleton, Mary (Jim) Johnson, and Joyce Hermiller, and brothers-in-law Frank Siebeneck and Steven (Debbie) Siebeneck. 

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Loretta Pettipas, her brother J. Wayne Pettipas, mother and father-in-law Richard and Lucille Siebeneck, brothers-in-law Kevin Dando, Mike Stepleton, and Tom Hermiller, and  sisters-in-law Kay Siebeneck and Sister Darlene Mary Siebeneck, S.N.D. 

Per Carolee’s request, the family will hold a private memorial at a later date.

Instead of a service immediately, she asks that you take a moment and lift a glass or a bottle of your favorite beverage in her honour (preferably a Blue Light). 

If you feel the desire to memorialize her, she asks that you donate to your local animal shelter in her name. She loved her cats and over the years adopted many from shelters; her latest being a trio of orange cats: Stewart, Wilson, and Piper. 

She will be missed by her immediate family, her many nieces and nephews, and her friends.
