Charles Richard Frank
It is with deep love and heavy hearts that the family of Charles Richard Frank announces his passing on December 17, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born in Komoka, Ontario on July 6, 1933, Charles was the beloved son of the late John Bethel Frank and the late Edith Lenore Frank (née Bentley).
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Rose Frank (née Peskun). He will be dearly missed by his children: Dr. Charles David Frank (Cathy), the late Robert Frank (Debbie), and Andrew Frank (Dr.Sonya). He was a proud grandfather to Dr. Nissa Frank, Nicole Vanderwerf (Blake), Chelsea Frank, Chloe Frank, and Caleb Frank, and a cherished great-grandfather to Byron and Leo.
He is also survived by his brother Tom Frank (Joeli) and his sister Helen Walker (Ian). Charles was predeceased by his siblings Lillian McIntyre, John Frank (the late Brandy), Gordon Frank (Jeanette), George Frank, and Winnifred Schroeder (Frank). He was a brother-in-law to the late Nettie Jones (the late Kenneth), Marion Dewar (Robert), and Bernice Muma (the late Gordon).
Charles retired after 30 years with the Canada Revenue Agency as an auditor, following 10 years with the Bank of Montreal. During some of his working years, he also held a second job delivering for Franco’s Restaurant and later Koolini’s, work he enjoyed for the people, He was a former member of the Glencoe Kinsmen Club and the Windsor Sportsman Club. Throughout his life, Charles valued service to others and quietly led by example, encouraging that same sense of responsibility and community in his sons.
An outdoorsman at heart, Charles enjoyed driving, fishing, hunting and horses. He loved games such as chess, euchre, crokinole, and cribbage, and also found pleasure in woodworking and swimming. A former Scout Master, he later reconnected with Scouting alongside his sons, sharing his skills, patience, and appreciation for the outdoors while reinforcing the importance of helping others.
Above all, Charles was a devoted husband and father. He always made time for his boys and found great joy in sharing his interests, values, and strong sense of service with them. He especially cherished time spent with his wife, Rose, and following his retirement they could often be found dancing together on weekends.
Following Charles’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held by his family close to his birthday in July.
