Peacefully, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the age of 75.

Loving wife of the late John Gilbert “Jack” Jones. Devoted mother of Katharine Ann Jones (Sara Collins) and Robert Preston Jones (Jennifer Jones). Cherished grandmother of Paxton and Madison Jones. Beloved sister of Barbara, Gail, Dorothy, Beryle, Angeline, Donna, and David. Predeceased by her brothers Peter, Frank, James, Harold, Patrick, Paul, and Michael. Adored daughter of the late Dorothy Desrivieres and the late Peter Mahoney. Colleen’s memory will be forever cherished by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Colleen lived a life filled with joy, humour, and boundless energy. She found her one true soulmate in Jack, and together they shared a deep and enduring happiness. Growing up in a large, lively family shaped her love of togetherness, and she remained closely connected to her siblings throughout her life. Colleen was always on the move—gardening, fixing things, visiting, chatting, and lending a hand wherever she could. Her quick wit and infectious positivity made her unforgettable to everyone she met; she had a gift for brightening days, cracking jokes, and turning strangers into friends. She delighted in sharing her wisdom and life lessons, offering guidance with warmth and sincerity. Her devotion to animals was one of her defining qualities, and she nurtured her cats, chickens, and the wildlife around her with a tenderness that made even the shyest creatures feel safe and welcome. In her later years, she found great purpose fostering for Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue and treasured her time living at the farm, surrounded by nature, wildlife, and the peaceful beauty she adored.

A small private celebration of life for family will be held in lieu of a funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Colleen’s favourite charity, Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/ottawa-stray-cat-rescue/), are appreciated.
