Dr. Robert ‘Bob’ Graham Sugarman
It is with incredible love and sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Robert Graham Sugarman on December 30, 2025, at Red Deer Regional Hospital, with his family by his side.
Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on October 30th, 1941, Bob was the son of Dr. Harold and Edna Sugarman and brother to Betty Ann (Sugarman) Randall. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Sugarman with whom he shared 48 years of marriage, daughter Lana Sugarman and cat Maggie. Bob also leaves behind nieces and nephew Darci Raho (Mike), Leanne Neckrock, and Chris Randall (Robyn), and brother in-law Terry Randall (Margie), as well as many cousins and family friends.
Bob led a life full of laughter, kindness, and service. As an obstetrician and gynecologist, he delivered countless babies and assisted many surgeries. He was a dedicated volunteer and Rotarian for many years. Bob was a lover of animals, curling, golfing, an avid Blue Jays, Oilers, and Saskatchewan Roughriders fan and of spending time at The Lake. He always had a twinkle in his eye and could play a mean game of bridge and cribbage.
He will be forever missed by his family and all of the lives he touched along the way.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Annette Bateson who lovingly cared for Bob at home and for the incredible staff at Taylorview Towers.
In memory of Bob, donations may be made to the Lending Cupboard, the Red Deer Food Bank or the Red Deer Humane Society in his name. The Sugarman family will host a private gathering to celebrate Bob’s life at their home on Sunday, March 15th.

I had numerous years of working with Bob from the time he was a Resident to the time that he became a full time O & G..There were many special memories of life on 4AB at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. My sincerest thoughts and sympathy to the Sugarman family.

We are deeply saddened to learn of our cousin Bob's passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to the family. We cherish memories of his visits to Watson, and seeing him at family get-togethers in Blackstrap. Such a pleasure to meet Bob through Rotary and to get to know him as a beautiful, kind soul. We share a love of animals, especially cats, and I even got the chance to cat sit for he and Elenor for “Ms.” Max! He dropped in to my Christmas social for many years and I still have the cactus he brought one year! He’ll be greatly missed. 💕

Christmas, birthdays, many family get-togethers - they were always more fun with my cousins, especially when that handsome young man, Bob, was there. Many years ago when I visited him in L.A. we had fun visiting Universal Studios and became part of a studio audience. When he was on a trip he gave me Beatles memorabilia which I still have. I will always have a special place in my heart for my cousin Bob. ♥️ 😇

“Uncle” Bob holds a special place in my heart and memories at The Lake. Rounds of cribbage, golf or other cabin games followed by great food and sharing stores by the fire at the table. He always had a smile on his face and a great story to share. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace and watch over all those he was close to.

I remember Bob from the days Lana was in elementary/middle school. He was a good father and friendly & helpful school parent. I have many good conversation memories. It was nice to have Bob involved with Lana at school and sharing his talents.
