In Loving Memory of Dragan (Dragomir) Basic

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dragan (Dragomir) Basic announces his passing on March 2, 2026, at the age of 83.

Dragan leaves behind his steadfast and caring wife, Liane of 56 years along with his beloved children Tanya (Mark) and Sarah (Andreo).

To his grandchildren—Aleksandra, Marko, Daniella, Adriano, and Damien—he was their beloved Jedo. They were truly the light of his eyes and his most profound source of joy.

Dragan was the last surviving sibling of his family, marking the end of an era. He was predeceased by his parents, Petko and Savka Basic, and his eight siblings in Serbia: Dorde, Radislav, Branko, Cedo, Dole, Zagorka, Krista, and Marija.

His love extended to his bonus granddaughter, Gabrielle (Elliott), whom he embraced with an open heart. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Carol (Rachel), a vast network of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews across Canada, Serbia, and the United States. He is also reunited in peace with his predeceased brother-in-law Claude and sister-in-law Lise.

Whether through a shared meal, where he was always first to the table, a spirited conversation where he would give out free advice, or all the simple and funny moments just being with his grandkids, he made his presence felt. No one left without hearing <Jedo loves you ok!>  He will be deeply missed, but his voice will echo in the stories told by his family for generations to come.

Dragan, Muz, Tata, Jedo, forever loved and carried with us always.
