Edward “Butch” Malone
Obituary Overview
Edward “Butch” Malone
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edward “Butch” Malone on May 9, 2026, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Jackie, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Loving father of Erin (Dave) and Chris (Jennifer). Proud and caring grandfather of Jack, Lindsey, Megan, and Colin. Dear son of the late Norbert and Velma Malone. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Frances, Jack (Sue), and Mary Pat, as well as many extended family members.
Butch’s life was rooted in family and community. A dedicated third-generation florist, he worked alongside his brother Jack to operate Malone’s Flowers, carrying on a tradition of quality, care, and courteous service. A highlight of his career was creating a floral arrangement for Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to Windsor in 1959. Butch was also a lifetime member of the Windsor Light Opera and was deeply committed to his lighting work with IATSE Local 580.
Butch will be remembered for his kindness, quiet humour, and steady willingness to help others. He could fix just about anything and generously shared that gift with family, friends, and neighbours. He was patient and dependable, taking care to do things the right way—values he passed along to his children and grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Essex County would be appreciated.
The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at Lakeshore Residence for their care and compassion.
