With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Elżbieta Rogowski Koleczko, who passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 69.
Born on January 26, 1956, in Białystok, Poland, Elżbieta’s life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family, her students, and the simple joys of nature and learning. A cherished wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, dedicated teacher, and loyal friend, Elżbieta touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband Richard Koleczko, her sons Michał Koleczko and Konrad Koleczko, and her adored grandchildren Miłosz Koleczko and Feliks Koleczko. She also leaves behind her sister Maria Brasławaska and brother Waldemar Rogowski. She was predeceased by her parents, Alfreda and Branisław Rogowski, and her brother Stanisław Rogowski.
A passionate educator, Elżbieta dedicated much of her life to teaching, instilling a love of learning in countless students. After retiring from her long and fulfilling career, she continued to nurture her love of knowledge, finding peace in the pages of her books and joy in sharing them with others. Her teaching legacy is one of compassion, patience, and integrity—qualities she carried into every aspect of her life.
Outside the classroom, Elżbieta found solace in her garden, which she tended with the same care and attention she gave to her family and students. She was also an avid animal lover, especially fond of her loyal dogs, who brought her constant companionship and joy. Her home was a warm sanctuary, filled with laughter, kindness, and a deep affection for those she loved.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all friends and loved ones for their support during this difficult time. A special thank you to the staff at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion throughout Elżbieta’s journey.
A memorial service to celebrate Elżbieta’s life will be held at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2:00 PM and Świętej Wodzie, in the suburb of Wasilków, at 8:00 PM, local times.
Elżbieta will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
