It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Norman McNorton, who passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 63.
Gary was the beloved husband of Paula (Tourangeau) McNorton and a proud and devoted father to his son, Christopher McNorton. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred (2005) and Janette (2007) McNorton, and by his brother Rick (2026).
He will be dearly missed by his siblings: Ed (Pat, 2023), Judy Adam (Mike), and Mike (Michelle). Gary was also a cherished brother‑in‑law to Louise, Marcel & Cathy, Marc & Diane, Denis, and Tommy. He held a very special place in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply.
Gary dedicated over 30 years of his career to Magna International Seating, where he was respected for his hard work, loyalty, and commitment, before enjoying a well‑earned retirement.
Music was one of Gary’s greatest joys. A self‑taught guitarist, he found true happiness in playing music and especially treasured the time spent jamming with good friends. He was also a passionate amateur radio operator, proudly using the call sign VE3API.
Gary will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful man whose quiet strength and gentle nature touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
As per Gary’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
