Gerald Allan Woodbeck
Obituary Overview
Forever in our hearts
While surrounded by his loving family, Al passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on April 26th at the age of 81.
Retired from Toronto Hydro, he loved big cars, war documentaries, musical theatre, Wahoo, sudoku, and pickles. But most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. They meant the world to him, and he meant the world to them.
Beloved husband of Marie, loving and devoted father of Sonya, Cindy (Peter) and Scott (Marion). Proud grandfather of Sabrina, Samantha (Daniel), Danielle, Troy, Dawson (Brooklyn), Layla, and Harmony. Adoring great-grandfather of Atlas, Echo, and Emilia. Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Dear brother of Marjorie (late Earl), Frank (Marion), Raymond (Phyllis), David, Randy (Diana Lynn). Dear brother-in-law of Sean (Yvonne), Derek (late Anne), Michael (late Anne), Pat (Barb) and Joan (Gerry).
Predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mabel (nee Moffatt), his late wife Linda, his siblings Doreen, Bill (late Gertie), Patsy (late Mel), Keith, and Mary Lou, and his brother-in-law, Gerry.
Our family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and PSWs at PRHC for their kindness and care for Al and all of us.
In keeping with Al’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Lansdowne Street, Peterborough, on June 27th from 12:30-3:30 with words shared at 1:00.
Every year, Al and Marie donated to over a dozen charities including Kawartha Food Share, Lung Association, and Heart and Stroke. If desired, please donate in his memory to one of these amazing charities or any of your preferred organizations.
