Gerald Francis Taylor
Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
Gerald Francis Taylor, 81, of Brampton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, after a brave and difficult journey with cancer.
Born on July 2, 1944 in Hull, Yorkshire, England, to his late parents, Francis Oliver Taylor and Beatrice Ella Taylor (nee Boynton). As a young man, Gerald immigrated to Canada, settling in Toronto, Ontario. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Metropolitan Toronto Police Service where he proudly and dutifully served his community for 30 years, until his retirement. In line with this service, Gerald was a proud Freemason, believing in and promoting the unity of the brotherhood.
Gerald is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Marie Taylor (nee Mucha), and his children Malcolm and Fiona. Through his beloved children, Gerald was father-in-law to Tina (Malcolm) and Steve (Fiona), who meant so much to him. He was a proud grandfather to Dario, Anthony, Sebastian, Ainsley and Kirk, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his dear sister, Elizabeth.
An avid bird enthusiast, Gerald will be remembered for his love of British automobiles, the James Bond franchise, music, and world travel. Additionally, he particularly enjoyed building and showing off his model train collection (OO scale!), a hobby that kept him busy with his friends at The Platelayers Society. In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, a funeral service is not planned.
