With profound love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the family of Gisela Tendick announces her peaceful passing on July 4, 2026, at the age of 99.
Born in Germany on February 22, 1927, Gisela carried with her the strength, resilience, and grace of a generation that witnessed remarkable change throughout the world. She built a life centered on family, kindness, and quiet devotion, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Gisela was the beloved wife of Walter Tendick, who predeceased her in 2020. Though separated by time, their enduring love remained a guiding light throughout her life, and her family takes comfort in imagining their joyful reunion.
A devoted mother, Gisela leaves behind her cherished sons, Alan Tendick and Mark Tendick (Yvette). She was a proud and loving Oma to Jo-Elle Mazur (Marc), whose accomplishments and happiness brought her immense joy. Her greatest delight in recent years was becoming Great-Oma to her treasured great-granddaughter, Margaux, who she thought much about and was delighted to have visits with her at the nursing and retirement homes.
Gisela was predeceased by her beloved sister, Kate, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.
Those who knew Gisela will remember a woman whose warmth could light a room and whose gentle spirit made everyone feel welcomed. She possessed a quiet elegance and a caring nature that left lasting impressions on friends, family, and neighbours alike. Whether through a thoughtful conversation, a comforting smile, or a simple act of kindness, Gisela had a remarkable gift for making people feel loved and valued.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff of Royal Oak by AgeCare in Kingsville for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity shown to Gisela during the final year of her life. Their support brought comfort not only to Gisela but also to her family, who will always be grateful for the friendships and care she received there.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, Gisela's legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the traditions she passed down, and the countless memories she created. Like a gentle breeze that lingers long after it has passed, her love remains woven into the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Cremation has taken place. Simple Choice Cremation Centre has been entrusted with the arrangements.
