It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gordon Chadwick announces his passing on August 10, at the age of 80.

Beloved husband of Susan Chadwick. Loving father to Kelly Chadwick (Eric Hunter) and Kristin McMullen (Jim). Cherished grandfather to Liam and Amelia Hunter.

Dear brother to Mark (Marion). Pre-deceased by his parents Gordon and Aileen and siblings John, Donald, and Cathy. He will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He will also be missed by friends Tony and Carol Mellor.

Gord retired after a 30-year career with Bell Canada where he began as a splicer and worked his way up to being a well-liked and respected manager in the construction (network services) department.

In Gord’s early retirement, he kept active with weekly hockey pickup games in Kingsville, Leamington and Wheatley. He also enjoyed golfing as part of a league in Wheatley. An avid fisherman, Gord caught, cleaned, and served up the most delicious fried pickerel and perch in Windsor-Essex County (possibly the world)!

Some of his happiest times were in Amherstburg where he worked hard on the landscaping and gardens of our family home. He made Sue’s vision come to life by building several ponds, a waterfall, and beautiful flower beds. He was very proud to have his work shown off during one of the annual Amherstburg garden tours.

They say animals always know and they absolutely adored Gord. He had many dogs that were well loved over the years. He also spoiled many neighbour dogs with treats and fed stray cats whenever they came around the house. Give them all a pet for us Dad!

Special thanks to Gord’s friends and the staff at Venvi Kingsville and the caring doctors and nurses on the Stroke floor at Hotel Dieu on Ouellette.

As per Gord’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
