Predeceased by her parents George and Daisy DeVos and in-laws Mark and Irene (Schwartz) Bellamy.
Born in Coatsworth, Ontario, she lived in Tilbury and later built a home in Lakeshore. Evelyn enjoyed a 33-year career at Sears Canada working in their catalog division. She became known as their ‘go to’ person for any challenge or issue related to the ordering and shipment of parcels from the Sears catalog. She traveled extensively with Sears Travel throughout the U.S. and later traveled to Europe. She loved to shop and could track down any and all deals. She took pride in her home and holiday get togethers were important to her. Reading was enjoyed in her quiet time. Later in life it was going for drives in the county then stopping for ice cream along the way. She will be missed.
Heartfelt thanks to all who cared for Evelyn during her time at Seasons Retirement Community in Royal Oak Village, LaSalle and Lakeshore Residence, Belle River. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor would be appreciated by the family. In keeping with Evelyn’s wishes, funeral services will be privately held with family, and a tribute of remembrance will be held at a future date. Interment will be at Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery in Tilbury, Ontario.
