Isabella Cooper (nee Herd)
March 25, 1927 - September 14, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isabella Cooper (née Herd), who left us peacefully on September 14, 2025, at the age of 98.
Isabella was born on March 25, 1927, in Dundee, Scotland. In her early 20s, with courage and hope for a new future, she sailed to Canada to plant her roots, where she built a life defined by love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Isabella was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving with distinction for close to 80 years. She held many leadership roles, and served as Worthy Matron in both Chilliwack, British Columbia, and Kingsville, Ontario.
Isabella’s greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her four sons Walter, Wayne, Warren, and Ward and cherished by her daughters-in-law Judy, Catherine and Janet. She is also greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Family has also been left behind in the UK and Australia. Isabella was predeceased by her beloved husband, George, with whom she shared many decades of love and partnership.
A private memorial service was held with family to celebrate Isabella’s life. She is being remembered at Epworth United Church in the All Saints Day celebration on Sunday, October 26th at 10:30. Friends are invited to attend this service.
