James Blain
Obituary Overview
Jim Blain
It is with great sadness that the family of James "Jim" Blain announces his peaceful passing at the age of 79 on December 3, 2025. Jim was a loving husband and best friend to Phyllis Blain, and a devoted father to Dale & Diana Blain, Denise & Todd McNeilly, James & Emily Blain, and Ashleigh & Dale DeLisle. He was a proud and caring grandpa/papa to Mitchell & Mackenzie Blain, Karly & Aiden McNeilly, as well as DJ, Darian, Maddie, Josie, and Daxon DeLisle. Jim is survived by his brothers Art (Nellie) Blain, Joe (Yvonne) Blain, John (Sharon) Blain, and Cam (Shelly) Blain along with many nieces & nephews as well as great nieces & nephews whom he all adored.
Jim was a proud retiree of Chrysler, where he was respected for his unwavering work ethic and cherished by colleagues for his endless supply of jokes and pranks. Retirement did not slow Jim down; instead, it offered him more time to enjoy his passions. He cherished spending time with family, being outdoors, taking vacations, and cooking delicious meals for the people he loved most.
As we bid farewell to Jim, we raise a beer to him remembering how he made each one of us feel like we were his favourite and will keep his love in our hearts. Though his final curtain call has come, his encore lives on in the stories we share and the laughter he has left behind. Rest in peace, dear husband (father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle). May your humour continue to light up the heavens, just as it brightened our lives.
As per Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held in his honour at Average Joes Sports Bar on December 9th from 2-6pm.
