Obituary Overview
James McTavish
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James McTavish. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, June, and his two loving daughters, Lynda (Vince) Sollazzo, and Judith (Richard) Kirkness. He will be greatly missed by his five grandchildren, Alayna (Matt) and Christina Sollazzo (Peter), as well as Roger (Jessica), Walter and Harold Kirkness. He also leaves behind four great grandchildren, Natyli and Otis Brown and Magnus and Jack Kirkness.
Jim’s entire career was spent in education: at Harrow High, Walkerville and Centennial high schools teaching Physics and Science, and then subsequently at the Ministry of Education writing curriculum. In retirement, he loved golf, and was an Official at golf tournaments around the province.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to an Alzheimer’s charity or a charity of your choice.
