James Thomas Morrow (Jim)

James Thomas Morrow (Jim), age 70, of Blackfalds Alberta, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born on August 24, 1955, in Ponoka Alberta he lived a life marked as a proud husband and father to four daughters, he mastered the art of patience, quick wit, and knowing when to simply nod and smile.

For 25 years, Jim was a dependable fixture for the Town of Ponoka working various roles. His strong work ethic, easygoing nature, and dedication to the town made him a familiar, respected part of the Ponoka community. Outside of work, he was happiest when he was playing fast ball, slow pitch, golfing, dancing, camping with family and friends, and of course cheering for the Edmonton Oilers.

Above all, he loved his family. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his daughters, Tammy (Rick), Heather, Chelsea (Ryan) Kristine (Colin); his granddaughters, Rheona, Madison; great grandson Bauer; his sister Kim (John) brother Rick (BJ), many nieces and nephews, and his adoptive daughters Charlene and Terrie. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Florence and sister Susan.

A celebration of life will be held on August 29th from 1pm to 5pm at the Stagecoach Saloon located at 5616 39 Ave Ponoka. BYOB if you would like to have a drink in memory of Jim. In lieu of flowers, and donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Jim’s name.
