 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Mae Lafreniere, at the age of 71, with her family by her side. A proud mother of Jodi (Josh) and Derek (Dana). Beloved Nana to Teagan (Brittany), Braedan, Gabriel, Lucas, Logan, Jackson, Madison, and Peyton. Great Nana to Emersyn and with one more baby girl on the way. Cherished sister to Lorraine, Jane (late Darrell), and Randy (Kelly). Predeceased by her brothers Carl and James. Loving aunt and godmother to Kim and Sarah. Janet’s memory will remain forever in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews. Janet built her life around food, family, and fun. As a cook, she nourished many, but her greatest happiness came from bringing family together around the table. She loved laughing, joking, playing cards, and making every gathering feel special. Her warmth, humor, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Through organ donation, Janet was able to give the gift of sight. A celebration of life will be held in honour of Janet at The Knights of Columbus, 8965 Malden Rd., LaSalle, on January 24, 2025. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A private dinner will follow. In Janet’s memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
