John Douglas Moskaluk
Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Moskaluk, who passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in his 74th year, at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by his family and the music he loved.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie (2003), and his father, Nicholas (2011). He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Becky, his son, Douglas, and his daughter, Marjorie. He is also survived by his siblings, David and Susan Bree, and nephew, Julian.
John dedicated much of his life to serving others. He worked with Peel Regional Police for 15 years, first as a constable and later as a sergeant. He then spent 20 years pursuing his dream career as a Highway Coach Tour Operator, where he met the love of his life, Becky, and built a life together raising their family. He later spent another 15 years working as a security guard in Hamilton, a role he took great pride in and where he formed many meaningful connections.
After retiring, John continued to give back to his community. He volunteered his time mentoring ESL students, helping them build confidence and connection through language and friendship. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels, displaying his love for Hamilton.
John courageously lived with Parkinson’s disease for over 20 years following his diagnosis in 2006. He remained in good spirits despite the challenges he faced and continued to share his warmth with everyone around him.
John’s pride and joy was his family, and his legacy of faith, kindness, strength, and compassion will live on through them.
John had a gift for connecting with people. He loved making friends, mentoring those who needed guidance, telling stories, and offering kind words to strangers. He found great joy in music, especially attending concerts and sharing that passion with others.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held for John on April 4th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Garside Bible Church 47 Garside Ave. North, Hamilton, ON
