Obituary Overview
Karen Grace Lee
With grieving hearts, the family of Karen Grace Lee (née Adamson) announces her passing on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the T2B Palliative Care Unit at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare in Windsor, Ontario at the age of 83.
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Brian Lee and Brent Lee (Bev Hamilton), grandson James Lee; sister Margaret Hinchcliffe and her extended family and her many friends.
Karen was predeceased by her husband of 51 years David Lee and her parents James and Edythe Adamson. She was also close to her aunt and uncle, Grace and George Adamson, and her cousins Helen, Linda, and Robert who grew up with her on the family farm.
Karen was born on July 18, 1942 in Gladstone, Manitoba. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1963, she married David Lee.
After a brief time in Saskatchewan, Karen and Dave lived for many years in Calgary and Edmonton. In their retirement, they returned to Manitoba to be closer to their extended family. Karen committed much of her time and energy to her family, to supporting young learners as a teacher’s aide, and to church leadership and community. She was a dedicated musician, and participated in school and church choirs throughout her life. Karen was also a keen golfer, accomplished bridge player, avid reader, game-player, puzzler, and cross-stitcher. Her friends and family have many happy memories of sharing these activities with her. Karen will be remembered and missed for her compassion, her kindness, and her amazing capacity for sharing joy with others.
As per Karen’s wishes, a cremation has taken place, and there will be a modest graveside ceremony when she is interred at the cemetery in Gladstone, Manitoba in the near future. If friends and family wish to make an expression of sympathy, they are invited to make a donation to their favourite charity.
