It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Laura Ann Barton, a lifelong resident of Amherstburg, Ontario, who left us on August 20, 2025.
Beloved wife of Gerald Laforge, together since they were 18 years old. A devoted and loving mother to their pride and joy, Jeremy Barton.
Laura is survived by her mother, Barb Barton, her brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Ruby, and her nieces and nephews: Kayla, Brandon, Chris, and Richard. She was predeceased by her nephew, Robert, and is now joyously reunited with her father, Junior Barton, and her sister, Tammy, after many years apart.
Anyone who knew Laura knew that she loved animals—often more than people. Her pets will miss her as deeply as her human family and friends.
She will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, her straightforward nature, and her deep affection for animals—especially the neighborhood squirrels who became part of her extended family.
