In Loving Memory
After a life well lived and well loved, Laurette Grant (née St. Pierre), peacefully passed away on December 29th, 2025 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Doug Grant (2023) whom she missed dearly. Their marriage was a lifelong partnership marked by love and devotion to their family.
Born in Grand-Mère Québec, Laurette lived a life grounded in faith and shaped by a deep love for her family.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Susan (Rhéal Demers) ,
Carole (Roly Paré ), Linda Grant (Hal Kerwin), Doug Grant Jr (Sue Grenier).
Grandma will be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren, Andréa (Dan), Julie (Richard),
Lisa (Grant), Leanne (Jeremy), Chris, Tiffany (Sean), Jesse, Mitchell, Derek (Ashley),
Sierra (Jose).
Laurette was also the proud great-grandma of 15 great-grandchildren.
Her family was her pride and joy and she treasured each generation that followed her.
She took great pride in her children and found endless pleasure in her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren , rarely missing a game, recital or activity.
She was their constant and most loyal supporter.
Her cherished family of eight siblings in Grand-Mère Québéc will miss her dearly as well as her special in-laws in Nova Scotia. Many nieces and nephews have fond memories of Aunt Laurette.
Strong-minded and independent, she faced life with determination and kindness.
Though she lived with health challenges, they never defined her or slowed her spirit.
She met each day with resilience and an unwavering will until the very end.
Laurette learned early the value of perseverance. Her strong work ethic was not only a source of pride but also a guiding example for her family.
She was employed at Wabasso Canada in her early years and she was proud of her work at the Welland General Hospital.
She enjoyed her outings with friends and family either bowling, playing cards or going to bingo. She was a lifelong and passionate sports fan who never missed a Toronto Blue Jays or Maple Leafs game and she cheered them on with true loyalty.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Welland Hospital Emergency team and to nurse Kathy, for their quick response, their kindness and considerate care.
We are also profoundly grateful to the Port Colborne Palliative Care team and to nurse Wendy, for their compassion and reassurance that they provided to our mom and to our family during a difficult time.
A special thank you to the St Charles retirement home family for the many years of love and support.
Laurette’s family will receive friends and family on Saturday January 10th at Holy Trinity Church, 77 Division St. Welland. Visitation in the Parish Hall from, 11:00-1:00 followed by the Church service at 1:30. A Celebration of her life will be held in the hall after the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Holy Trinity Food Pantry and Hygiene Program would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations can be made at the church or

Mom, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.
You are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
