It’s with heavy hearts the family of Lionel Shepherd announces his passing on December 23, 2025 at the age of 84.  

Cherished husband to Micheline. 

Beloved father to Michelle Shepherd (Leo Lafromboise), Charllene Shepherd, Lisette Shepherd (Bill Sinkevitch), and Shawn Shepherd (Mary Patterson). 

Proud grandpa to Creg Mitchell, Meghan Mitchell, Joshua Pilgrim, and Jaden Gagnier, and great-grandpa to Abbeygale, Loclan, Novah, and Hazel. 

Forever remembered by his siblings Lawrence Shepherd (the late Odile), John Shepherd (Linda), and Michael (Debbie). Lionel is predeceased by his brother Reginald and his parents Reginald and Bernadette Shepherd. 

Lionel will be dearly missed by his furry companion Boots, extended family, and friends.  

Lionel lived a full and joyful life, grounded in family, friendship, and a love of the outdoors. A devoted and protective father, he believed that family came first above all else. He was a retiree from Chrysler following 33 years of dedicated service. Lionel was active and social, winning horseshoe games, swimming, fishing, traveling, camping wherever he could, and enjoying shuffleboard, darts, music, and singing. Lionel was also a past Grand Knight of 4375 Knights of Columbus. Known for his quick wit and endless dad jokes, he truly was a friend to all, from Wendy’s to everywhere in between. All who knew and loved Lionel were truly blessed to have him in their lives. 

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.  

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Atonement, 2940 Forest Glade Dr., Windsor, ON on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Visitation will take place from 9:00am-10:00am at St. Francis Hall located next to Our Lady of Atonement. The Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00am at Our Lady of Atonement chapel. The burial will take place at St. Anne’s Cemetery.
