Obituary for Lori-Anne Cunningham (Sanford)
Lori-Anne Cunningham, passed away on February 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy built on love, loyalty, and the deep connections she created throughout her life.
Born in 1966, Lori brought warmth and kindness wherever she went. She had a rare ability to make people feel cared for and accepted, and her gentle presence stayed with anyone who crossed her path.
One of the most beautiful parts of Lori’s story began early on. In grade school, she met Gerry — the boy who would become her partner for life. What started as childhood friendship grew into an unbreakable bond filled with shared laughter, challenges overcome together, and a love that only strengthened with time. Their story was one of true companionship and unwavering devotion.
Together, Lori and Gerry raised three children who meant the world to her: Eric, Justine, and Curtis. As their family grew, she welcomed her daughter-in-law Brianna with the same love and acceptance she offered everyone close to her. And nothing brought Lori more joy than her granddaughter Reygan, who lit up her heart in a way only a grandchild can.
She also held a deep love for her own family. Lori leaves behind her parents, Wayne and Phyllis Sanford, who cherished her throughout her life. She will be missed by her sisters, Kathy (Bob) and Kim (John), sharing bonds filled with laughter, shared memories, and lifelong support.
Lori was also a loving aunt, and she shared a special closeness with her nieces Danielle and Nicole, (Andy) Their relationship was filled with affection, pride, and connection — a bond Lori held dearly. She also adored her many other nieces and nephews, each one holding a special place in her heart. Matthew, Justin, Jenna, Noah, Owen and Ryan.
Family to Lori extended far beyond her immediate circle. She embraced Gerry’s family as her own, and they loved her deeply in return. She leaves behind Irene Cunningham, and siblings Richard (Lori), David (Brenda), Susan (Eric), and Kevin (Susan). She is also predeceased by Andy Cunningham, who remains lovingly remembered by the family.
For more than 30 years, Lori worked at Windsor Regional Hospital. Though her work was largely administrative, she approached it with kindness, reliability, and empathy — qualities that touched the people she worked with and supported.
At her core, Lori was a woman who loved deeply and lived gently. She created a home filled with warmth, comfort, and traditions that will continue through the family she cherished. Her kindness, her soft laughter, and the way she made every person feel important are gifts she leaves behind.
Lori’s story does not end here — it continues in the people she loved, in the lessons she taught through her example, and in the memories that will be retold for years to come. She will be forever loved and deeply missed.
“So goes the journey of life… and she filled it with love, a little laughter, Gerry’s quiet strength, her children’s love, and the sparkle of her granddaughter Reygan.”
