Obituary Overview
Louisa Storm Humphrey
The family of Louise (Louisa) Humphrey sadly announce her peaceful passing at age 94 on September 14 at Chateau Park Long-Term Care in Windsor.
Her amazing parents, John and Mary (Maisie) Walker, have finally been reunited with their feisty – and often crabby - daughter after decades of being physically apart and have welcomed her to Heaven. Also among the welcoming to Heaven party are Louise's older brother Jack Walker and sister-in-law Georgina, infant niece, Carol Ann, oldest son, Carl, and Tom Humphrey with whom she shared close to 30 years of marriage . Others welcoming Louise to Heaven are father-in-law and mother-in-law Carl Vincent Humphrey and Gladys Humphrey, sister-in-law Marie Humphrey and her incredible lifelong friends, Anne Lukas and Isabelle McArdle, both of whom left their Earthly existence far too soon.
Louise was born and raised in Walkerville. Her work resume included stints with Champion Spark Plug, Hiram Walker's and Park Davis before getting married and becoming a stay at home mom, a role which she both dearly loved and excelled in.
To know Louise is/was to love Louise! She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and overall person.
Whenever Louise entered a room – at any stage of her life - she quickly lit it up with her quick wit, engaging personality and demeanor before soon owning the room. And if you tried to wrestle ownership of a room from Louise, good luck with that as you had little to no chance of winning.
Although she was known as Louise for most of her life, her given name was Louisa. As a little girl she always knew when she was in trouble whenever her mother called her Louisa. And while she was known almost exclusively as Louisa for the final years of her life, it was not because she was in trouble with the adoring staff at Chateau Park, but rather as a sign of deep affection because she was so loved by so many that some staff actually considered (perhaps wished) her to be their grandmother.
Left behind to fondly remember their crazy Aunt Louise are nephew Dale Walker (Vickie) and nieces Sandy Myles (Jim) and Shelley Bondy (Phil) and grandchildren Jamie and Jesse. Louise's youngest son, John, is devastated over the loss of his hero and best friend but remains determined to carry on chasing his dreams and goals and make his mother ever-so-proud as she watches over him from Above.
As per Louise's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A celebration of life and internment at Victoria Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date.
A gratitude of enormous thanks is sent to the staff at Chateau Park who took tremendous care of Louise for almost six years. Your loving efforts, like Louise, will never be forgotten!
