Lynda Lee McMahon
Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lynda McMahon on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the age of 79.
Lynda was the heart of her family and the love of Allan McMahon’s life for 61 beautiful years. She was a devoted and cherished mother to April (Kim) and Jeff (Melissa), and a proud and loving grandmother to Alexandra, Samantha, and Sloane, who brought her endless joy and laughter.
Born the youngest child of the late Pamela and Jack Sobol, Lynda carried with her a rich family heritage—her mother’s French Canadian roots and her father’s ties to the Croatian region—traditions and stories she held close and shared with those she loved. She was predeceased by her siblings Rita, Hector, Kenneth, and Aldine, all of whom she remembered fondly throughout her life.
Lynda dedicated many years of her professional life to the Ministry of Transportation, where she built a long and respected career before retiring—a reflection of her strong work ethic and quiet determination.
Above all else, Lynda will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the deep love she had for her family. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—tending to her garden, surrounding herself with the colour purple, and losing herself in the pages of a good book. Her home was a place of comfort, her presence a steady source of care, and her love something that will continue to be felt every day by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Lynda’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered condolences, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
A celebration of Lynda’s life will be held later this year in Elk Lake, Ontario. In keeping with her wishes, Lynda was laid to rest through cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her honour.
