Madeline “Pudge” Isabelle Clapp (nee Doan) passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, at the age of 97. Madeline was born on June 16, 1929. On December 11, 1948, she married Donald William, with whom she built a life and family before his passing in 1970. She was also predeceased by her parents, Mary I. Doan (Foreman) (2002) and William J. Doan (1976), and her sister, Betty Coombe (2003).

Madeline is survived by her sons, Aaron (d. Jill), Len (Kathleen), and Kevin (J’Neene). She was a beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and her family will forever be grateful for her strength, guidance, and wisdom as their matriarch.

Over her 97 years, Madeline shared her love and support with her family, her community, and the many friends she had the privilege of knowing. She gave generously of herself as a volunteer, trusted friend, and supportive neighbour. She proudly shared the stories and details of her life and became an invaluable source of local history for Walker Homesites.

Widowed in 1970 with three boys to raise, Madeline faced life with courage, independence, and determination, creating a life on her own terms. She was strong-willed, capable, and deeply respected, with her steadfast spirit inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She passed as she lived, with dignity and grace. She will be forever loved and forever missed. At her request, cremation has taken place, and final arrangements will be private
