Marcel Byrne passed away peacefully on November 23, 2015. He is predeceased by his parents, Gertrude and Thomas Byrne, and his sisters, Marguerite (2009) and Yvonne (1956). Marcel was the beloved brother of Pauline Torti (Frank) and brother-in-law to Frank Pelisek (Lloralee).
He leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Heather Pelisek (Mark Brown), Peter Pelisek (Michelle), Patrick Torti (Julie), and Amy Visser (Ray). He will also be fondly remembered by his great-nieces and nephews: Grace and Natalie Pelisek-Brown, Sophie Pelisek, and Brayden and Easton Visser.
Marcel will be remembered for the simplicity with which he lived his life and for his many dedicated years of service at Chrysler in Windsor. He was especially proud to be a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2775 in Belle River.
The family extends a deep debt of gratitude to Seasons Belle River Retirement Home and The Villages at St. Clair for their care and support over the years. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to Dr. F. Demarco and Dr. Pierce for their excellent care, and to the nurses, PSWs, and staff on the Talbot Community floor, with whom Marcel shared daily laughter. A special thank you goes to Lori Bellmore (Ontario Health @ Home), who began Marcel’s home-care journey 15 years ago and supported the smooth transition into long-term care.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, 488 St. Charles St., Belle River, ON. Interment at St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery.
