We are very sad to share that Maryann Drouillard (née Orr) passed away on Monday afternoon, June 8th, 2026, at the age of 79. 

Maryann was a cherished mother, Mémé and friend. 

She is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children Pat, Lisa (Rob) and Jenny (Derek); by her grandchildren Alex, Adam (Frédérique), Olive, Ryan, and Olivia; and by her many friends and relatives. Maryann was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-one and a half years, Jim Drouillard, in 2017, and by her brother, John Orr, in 2008.

Maryann was born and raised in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Clover Mae (Brown) and Victor Orr. She married Jim and moved to Canada in 1965. Jim’s work took them and their growing family around the country to Saint-Jérôme, Saskatoon and Sarnia, before they finally settled in his hometown of LaSalle, ON. In 1982, Maryann enrolled at the University of Windsor, graduating in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in business. She went on to work for many years in human resources for the auto industry, building a career that she was very proud of.

Maryann took great joy in travelling the world with her husband and family throughout her life and would often reminisce about her adventures abroad. Maryann was also an exceptionally talented quilter, knitter, and textile artist who never stopped learning and teaching. She was a longtime member and former president of the Windsor Quilters ’Guild, where she will be dearly missed. She had a gregarious spirit, made friends in any checkout line and made an art of thoughtfulness, which was often expressed through the beautiful crafts she made and gifted.

At Maryann’s request, cremation has taken place. No public service is planned. Donations may be made in her memory to the Windsor Regional Hospital.
