The family of Michael “Mike” McCarthy is saddened to announce his passing at the age of 73, on May 4, 2026. 
Mike is now reunited with his beloved wife, Debra McCarthy; his daughter, Stephanie; and his sister, Kathy.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Joe Gaines (Shandelle), Robert Gaines, and the late Stephanie Gaines (Ryan Pratt). He is also survived by his brother, Bill McCarthy; Tony Payne (Kathy Payne); and his grandchildren, Greg Gaines, Addison Gaines, and Alivia Pratt.
Mike will be fondly remembered by his niece and nephew, Brendan Payne (Laurie), along with many great-nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his cousin Kirk, his dear friend Skeeter, and many extended friends.
Mike will be especially missed by his many friends and extended family at the Kingsville Legion, where he shared countless memories. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his Legion family for their friendship and support over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kingsville Legion at a later date, to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to Simple Choice Cremation (Wyandotte).
