Obituary Overview
Olimpia Barberio
In Loving Memory of Olimpia Barberio
February 1, 1943 – October 28, 2025
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Olimpia Barberio, who left us on October 28, 2025, at Heron Terrace Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Cherished mother to Gaspare (Kerri), Emily (Glenn), Ivana (Brandon), Savio (Michelle), and Attilio (Jacqueline) — her greatest joys in life.
Adored Nonna to Corina (Paul), Steven, Jesse, Lucas, Jordyn, Nathan, Travis, Julia, Aaron, Keegan, Tyler, and Isabella.
Predeceased by her first great-grandson, Ethan Spada, whom she loved dearly.
Proud Bis-Nonna to Olivia and Savannah.
Dear sister to Rosarina (Giuseppe) Paonessa, Raffaele (Marguerite) Barberio, Sarafina (Giuseppe) Guzzetti, Filomena (Natale) Paonessa, Luigi (Teresa) Barberio, and Margherita (Pasquale) D’Acrisio.
She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family in Windsor as well as Italy.
Olimpia lived a full and vibrant life marked by energy, generosity, and love. She cherished her time at her trailer in Caboto Park (Harrow), where she looked forward to weekends surrounded by her grandchildren. A fantastic cook, her homemade pasta sauce and pizza were legendary — shared with anyone fortunate enough to be welcomed to her table.
Whether she was bowling strikes with her league at Bowlero, tending to her pond and gardens, spending time with the Women’s Auxiliary Club at the Giovanni Caboto Club, working security at the Windsor Courthouse, or caring for children as a beloved school bus driver for Windsor-Essex County schools, Olimpia brought warmth, joy, and dedication to everything she did.
Her strength, laughter, and unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
Arrangements entrusted to Simple Choice Cremation (Wyandotte).
