Patricia Anne Merritt
It is with heaviest of hearts that we inform you of the passing of Patricia Anne Merritt (nee Holcombe) on January 9th, 2026 at the age of 85. She left our world peacefully to be reunited with her late husband John P. Merritt (Jack), as well as her step daughter Dale Andrews (2022) and her many brothers and sisters.
She will be dearly loved and missed by her children, Herb Woods, Kevin Woods (Terrie), Debbie Parent (Gord), and Dan Woods (Nathalie). In addition are her step children, Deanna McLean (Larry), Debbie Gillis (Alex), Jack Merritt (Maria), and Karen Revel (Larry). Patricia will be cherished forever in the hearts of her 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, as well as her friends who she met along the way.
Born in Aylmer, ON, on July 17th, 1940, Patricia was the patriarch of her family. “Mom” to everyone she met. She had a special way of making everyone feel at home. She was very proud of her family. Her passions in life above all were cooking delicious meals, baking the most wonderful treats, and playing bingo with her friends. One of her biggest prides was her achievements as tap-dancer. Even at 85 years young, she still had her moves and quick-wit.
In her own words; “Let me tell you something, and this is the truth,” Patricia will be cherished forever by all the lives she touched.
