Obituary Overview
Richard Alan Edwards
Richard Alan Edwards
January 1, 1952 - September 28, 2025
With heavy hearts, the family of Richard Alan Edwards
announces his peaceful passing on September 28, 2025, at the age of 73.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Lynn (2020), and many dear family members who passed before him.
Rick was a man who found joy in helping others. His kindness, easy laugh, and warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He especially cherished his time with friends over tea and laughter at his local Tim Hortons in Kingsville, a simple pleasure that brought him great happiness.
Rick passed away on his own terms, surrounded by love, at the home of his nephew Paul, niece Meredith, and their daughters. He was lovingly held by his daughter Shannon Boynton and niece Kelly Strilchuck as he left this world, a moment of deep peace, love, and connection. He holds our hands still, in spirit and in our hearts.
We believe Rick is now in heaven, sharing his many stories with his wife Lynn, his parents Carl and Thelma Edwards, brother Robert, Grandma Bulley, his dear Auntie, and many more cherished loved ones.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life was held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, a day filled with love, memories, with Rick right beside us.
He will be deeply missed by his immediate and extended family in Canada and the United States, as well as by countless friends. Those who knew him will remember his smile, his laughter, and the quiet comfort of simply knowing he was there. We will carry his memory in our hearts and carry his legacy of a man who never
asked for much but gave us everything.
In honor of his memory and following his wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Instead, please consider helping someone in need, just as Rick would have done.
Donations can be made to the Hospice of Windsor.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Rick’s medical team, including the
compassionate staff at Windsor Regional Hospital, St. Elizabeth’s Health Centre, Dr. Burgess, Willie Kirenko, NP, the M.A.I.D. program, and Simple Choice Cremation.
“Good bye my family, my life has passed.
I loved you all til the very last.
Weep not for me, but courage takes.
Love each other for my sake.
For those of you, love don’t go away.
They walk beside you everyday.
Forever in our hearts.”
