It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Deschamps on July 3, 2026, at the age of 83.

Richard was the beloved son of the late Albert Deschamps (1992) and Rose Deschamps (1995), of McGregor, Ontario.

He was the cherished father of Jim Deschamps (Tracey), Tammy Deschamps (Jeff Benoit), Laurie Gibb (Geno Duronio) and Roxane Pare (Steve).

Richard was an adored Pepe to Raegan LeJeune, Colleen Deschamps (Andrew Karagiozian), Chas Deschamps (Sara Masse), Mackenzie Benoit, Jonah Benoit, Olivia Gibb, Emma Gibb, Katelynn Gill (Troy Bolyantu), and Owen Pare. He was an extra-proud Great-Pepe to Colt Bolyantu and Georgia Bolyantu, who brought him endless joy.

He was the dear brother of Leo Deschamps (Susan), the late Norbert Deschamps (2018) (Edna), the late Lawrence Deschamps (2021) (Dolly, 1994), and the late Armand Deschamps (1992).

Richard will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Waiting to welcome him at the Rainbow Bridge was his beloved companion, Nikki, who held a special place in his heart.

Richard was a proud retiree of Chrysler, where he dedicated 34 years of loyal service. His strong work ethic and commitment were matched only by the love he had for his family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Heron Terrace for the exceptional care, kindness, and respect they showed Richard. Your dedication and support brought comfort not only to him but also to his family, and your kindness will always be remembered with sincere appreciation.

In keeping with Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
