In Loving Memory of Dr. Richard McGinty
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Richard McGinty, surrounded by his entire family.
For 40 years, Dr. McGinty practiced as a dentist in South Windsor, where he was respected for his steady hand and admired for his caring and compassionate nature.
Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann who he dedicated many years of devoted care to. Richard cherished travelling the world with his beloved wife, Ann. He found great joy boating on the Great Lakes and spending time on the golf course. Richard's true masterpiece was his family.
He was an unwavering support system for his children and grandchildren, helping pave their paths through education and always being present for every milestone, big or small.
He leaves behind a vibrant legacy through his children: the late Rick (2003), Brian (Trina), David (John), Andrea (Jim), and Brenda (Debra); his cherished grandchildren, Breanne (Leo), Sean (Gwenny), Brendan, Blake (Jess), Liam, Ann-Ricki, Mitchell, and Emma; and his adored great-grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, Winston, Eleanor, along with many nieces and nephews. Richard later found companionship and love with his recently deceased partner, Selma.
Richard's wit was his trademark. He had a gift for making everyone laugh—a quality that lightened the lives of those around him, even in his final days. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the PSWs for their constant care and compassion, and to Deb, Tammy, and Brad from Saint Elizabeth for their dedicated support.
A special and profound thank you goes to his daughter Andrea, who provided the warmest care for her father in her home for over 10 years. Her devotion allowed him to live his final decade surrounded by the familiar comforts of family and love.
Richard will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever remembered by the Windsor community and the family he adored above all else.
If you desire, donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor in Dr. Richard McGinty's name. A private family service and celebration will take place in the months to follow.
