Roddy "Rod" Tapp

In Loving Memory

Roddy (“Rod”) Tapp passed away on November 18, 2025. He will be greatly missed by his children, Kylie, Kenzie, and Dylan, as well as his grandchildren, Kruz and Kairo, who brought him endless joy. We take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his mom (Maryanne Manson), dad (Jack Tapp), and beloved dog (Shadow).

Our dad/grandpa had a deep love and appreciation for the outdoors. He was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, or riding his bike – anything that allowed him to be surrounded by nature. Some of our best memories come from days spent outside with him, enjoying all the facts and teachings he liked to pass on to us.

He was also a true hockey fanatic and loved the Toronto Maple Leafs. He spent many of his younger years as a goalie, which was a role he took great pride in. Our dad/grandpa could talk hockey with anyone and his passion for the sport was contagious.

What we will remember most though is how friendly he was. Our dad/grandpa had a gift for conversation and could strike up a chat with just about anyone he met. His warm personality, humor, and genuine kindness made people feel comfortable and welcomed, where we know he touched the lives of many.

We miss him more than words can express and know that he will be missed by so many others as well. Because of his love for the summer weather, and to honour his wishes, a celebration of life will be planned and held in May 2026. Then, we can gather together in the sunshine and have a beer to remember him.
