Obituary Overview

Ronald George Andrews

Passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, surrounded by love. He was one week shy of his 93rd birthday.

Ron was born in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia and grew up in Truro, Nova Scotia. He was a man of integrity who had a strong moral compass. Throughout his life, he remained a devoted family man who always put family first. Ron will be remembered for his loyalty, humility, and honesty. He was known for his gentle humor that brought smiles and laughter to those around him. He was warm and welcoming to everyone, quick with a kind word, and smiled easily with a twinkle in his eye.

Ron was happiest at home or gathered with family and friends at the cottage. He had a lifelong love of hockey and proudly played centre in his younger years. A man of faith, he served as a lay assistant at Christ Church and was the one who said grace before every family meal, a role he cherished.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mae Andrews, his sisters, Irene and Dorothy, and his brothers, Bill, Havey and Robert. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Grace Andrews (nee Greenhalf). He will be missed dearly by his children Ron (Cathy), Liz (Doug), Jen, and Colleen (Ryan). Ron was “Papa” to his beloved grandchildren Sydney (Sean), Duncan, Justine (Connor), Robbie (Annabelle), Gavin, Logan, Nate, and Mitchell, as well as to his two cherished great-grandchildren, Oslo and Zoe. He will also be remembered fondly by his sisters-in-law Vivian, Cherlyn and Courtney and his many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, and as expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated. The Salvation Army (1-800-725-2769)  Link: Transform Lives Today!

A funeral service will be held on December 13th, 2025, 1:00 pm at Christ Church in Brampton. The family warmly welcomes friends and family to join them for refreshments at the church following the service.

Ron’s kindness, sense of humour, and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. As his wife Grace says, “He was an absolute gem!”.
