Samuel Wayne "Sam" Greaves

Passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. 

Much loved father of Chris (Nicole). Beloved Papa Sam of Ashley, Courtney, Austin and Mason. Great grandfather of Douglas, Vivian, Elijah, and Hazel. 

Sam is reunited by his parents; Wilfrid and Grace (nee Shuttleworth). 

Predeceased by his siblings; Mary (Jim) Stitt and John (Laura) Greaves. Loved uncle of the late Jane Haas (1988), Linda (Marcel) Breault, Gayle (Bill) Neal, Johnny (the late Renata) Greaves, and Melissa (Brent) Hughes and great uncle to several great nieces and great nephews. 

Sam was born and raised in Sandwich South on the Greaves family farm and was a lifelong resident of the Town of Essex. 

He was a proud employee of Chrysler for 38 years. 

Sam enjoyed many years of Nascar and snowmobiling trips with his lifelong friends throughout the years. 

He loved to volunteer his time with Essex Sports teams dating back to the 1960’s.

 He will also be missed for his utterly and always meticulously clean car and toolbox.  

Cremation has taken place and a celebration will be held at a later date.
