It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shaun Mullan announces his peaceful passing on February 6, 2026 at the age of 84 at Erie Shores Healthcare in Leamington, Ontario Canada.
At his side was his beloved wife of 37 years Sandra (nee Hogan), of Kingsville, Ontario.
Cherished father to Grant Mullan (Theresa), of Comox British Columbia, Shauna Lewandoski (Ron) of St. Albert, Alberta.
Forever remembered by his grandchildren, Shaun, Luke and Matthew Lewandoski; Melody, Stephanie, Samantha, Molly, Emily, Joey and Jack Mullan.
Loving brother to Catherine (Don) Huppe of Brooklin Ontario.
Predeceased by his sisters Mary and Joanna.
A favourite uncle to Craig, Darren, Charlene, Christopher and Richard.
Shaun will also be missed by his extended family in Northern Ireland; Terri Quigley and family and Father Lawrence Boyle, all of County Tyrone. He will also be missed by his wonderful circle of friends at Eaglewood, Qualicum Beach and Sidney British Columbia.
Predeceased by his parents, his mother Molly O’Doherty and his father Jack Mullan, who passed away when Shaun was 6 years old, as well as his stepfather Richard Grant, who lovingly raised him.
Shaun never lost his captivating baritone broadcaster’s voice. He was the life of the party with an endless repertoire of witty jokes complete with all of the various accents. He was the pied piper of Irish songs. He had an abiding interest in world events and politics and a remarkable knowledge of world history and geography. An active follower of football world wide. An expert driver, he would confidently attempt any challenge in any country.
Favourite places were his home town of Derry and the stunning beaches of Buncrana, County Donegal as well as home base in Sidney BC where he and Sandra founded Mullan Sales & Marketing, pioneering and establishing all of the Western Canadian and Pacific Northwest US markets for the Eastern based manufacturer Napoleon Fireplace Company. Concurrently they worked with Australian based manufacturers launching their cooling products into Canada.
Shaun and Sandra travelled extensively, most recently on a cruise circumnavigating Ireland.
As difficult as it is for all of us to say goodbye, we know that he is being welcomed by his dear family and friends who have gone before him.
As per Shaun’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a future date in Sidney, British Columbia.
Donations to Erie Shores Healthcare or Canadian National Institute of the Blind (CNIB) would be appreciated.
