Shirley MacDonald
Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Shirley MacDonald, who passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, at the age of 92.
Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert C. MacDonald, who passed away in 1998. Together they shared more than 44 years of marriage, building a loving home and raising their family.
She will be deeply missed by her three children, Cheryl (Jim), Marty (Christina), and Sandi (Peter). Shirley was a proud and loving grandmother to Chad, Lauren, Amy, Michelle, Michael, and Lisa, and a cherished great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
She is survived by her brother, John Morris of Barrie, Ontario. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Joyce and Diane, and by her brothers, Peter and Gary. Shirley will also be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
A longtime member of the Red Hat Society in Oakville, Shirley also enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the Sir John Colborne Recreation Centre for Seniors in Oakville. She treasured the friendships she made there and the many activities, laughter, and companionship they shared over the years.
Shirley was known for her warm smile, generous heart, and welcoming nature. She always made family and friends feel at home and will be remembered for the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and genuine care for others touched countless lives. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
The family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Bob. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed forever.
A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
