Sjoerd Arjen Peterzon 'Stephen'

In Loving Memory

It is with profound sadness that we announce his passing on May 17th, 2026 at the age of 62 years. Stephen leaves his wife of 39 years, Louise (nee de Vries) and daughter Heather. He was a loving and caring husband and father. He also leaves a large extended family.

Stephen was born in The Netherlands. There he had attained a Masters License in Baking. He emigrated to Canada at the age of 16. Stephen worked in the food industry all his life, starting his career as a baker for a Loblaws in-store bake shop in Scarborough. He became a manager/baker at a Loblaws in-store bakery in Collingwood and then two President's Choice stores in London. He had a perceptive sense of business and baking, turning a sometimes struggling bakeshop into a going concern.

Stephen was very hospitable; visitors were always welcome in their home. He reveled in keeping family and guests well fed, and enjoyed being in the kitchen constantly.

A heartfelt thankyou to the doctors and nurses at LHSC University Hospital.

As per Stephen's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Donations can be made to Stephen's favorite charity - President's Choice Children's Charity.
