It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thusitha on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the age of 86.

Beloved brother of Rohini, and predeceased by Harry, Wally, Swarna, Asoka and Lakshman. Adored son of the late Premawathie and the late D.W. Premachandra. Beloved uncle of Sakuntala and Anura; Millintha, Sumith (deceased) and Sajith (Bambi); Prassana and Rekha; Kinkini and Anjitha; and Samantha. Thusitha’s memory will always be cherished by his extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank Thusitha’s close and dear friends, Mary Jane Herley, Ross Anderson, and Bob Chaput whose kind and generous hearts provided him with help, support, comfort, and a sense of family when family was not nearby. Their giving spirit will not be forgotten.

Thusitha was a quiet and private man whose kindness and gentleness touched many lives.

Thusitha was a beloved family physician who cared deeply about his patients, providing comfort and support when needed most.

Thusitha was also the favourite uncle of his niece and nephew, Kinkini and Anjitha, whose lives he was a part of from the very beginning. He was the fun uncle who babysat, bought comic books and ice cream, cheered on achievements, and was always there to lend a helping hand. These cherished memories will live on in hearts grown heavy with his loss.

A celebration of Thusitha’s life will be held at a later date for close friends and family. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated. Cremation Services by Simple Choice Cremation, Ottawa, 613-692-5353.
