Wayne Jessop

It is with profound sadness and a broken heart that I announce the peaceful passing of my beloved husband and very best friend, Wayne Jessop, on August 26, 2026.

Born in Goderich, Ontario, Wayne and Clara -Lee (Longshaw) were married in 1981. For 45 years, he was not only my husband, but my best friend, my partner and the person I shared my life with. I will forever be grateful for the life, love and memories we shared together.

Wayne was the loving father of Ken and his wife Melissa, grandfather of Kali, Matthew and his wife Angelica, and great-grandfather to Solene. He was the dear brother of Cheryl and Ed Sinnett.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Gordon Jessop.

Wayne had a deep love for music, especially Country music. His passion became a beautiful part of his life as he wrote, produced and sang his own “From the Heart” CD. Music brought him great joy, and he loved sharing that joy with others.

Wayne also dedicated 39 years of his working life to the Produce Department at Zehrs in Windsor, retiring after many years of loyal and dedicated service. During that time, he touched the lives of countless coworkers and customers, many of whom became friends along the way.

Wayne had a kind and generous heart and a wonderful sense of humour. He had a way of making people laugh, making them feel welcome and leaving a little piece of himself with everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, former coworkers and the many customers whose lives he touched throughout the years.

To me, Wayne was so much more than my husband. He was my best friend, my safe place and my companion through all of life’s moments. Losing him leaves a space in my heart that can never be filled. I will carry his love, his laughter and our memories with me always.

Heaven has gained a beautiful soul.

A chapter has closed, but the story of Wayne will live on in every heart he touched. Though Wayne has left this world, his spirit, his lessons, his music and his laughter remain with us always.

A life lived with courage, compassion, kindness and deep devotion to family and friends.

Loved beyond words. Missed beyond measure. Remembered always.

As per Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held at a later date.
