William Absolon
William Paul Absolon, born in Guelph, August 1 1930. He passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Mary Absolon (Kadlecik) June 8, 2019.
Dear son of the late Paul and Suzanne Absolon and dear son-in-law of the late George and Mary Kadlecik. Dear father to Peter of Strathroy, Jane of Strathroy, Laurel of London, Nancy (Jeffery Dearing) of Vancouver and Paula (Michael Relph) of New York City.
Missed by his sister Susan Absolon Fjellvik of Norway, sister-in-law Sharon Kadlecik of London and sister-in- law Barbara Dickenson of Baltimore Ontario. William is predeceased by his sister’s Margaret Ridsdale, Mary Neidert, and brothers-in-law Olaf Fjellvik, Jim Ridsdale, Henry Neidert, George and Joseph Kadlecik and sister-in-law Annie Kadlecik.
William will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews and extended family in Czechoslovakia.
William was an original member of the London Police Boys Band. He organized the Dance Band Teen Town at H. B. Beal Technical School( Beal tech).
William was a Trustee on the Delaware School Board, and Building Inspector for the Township of Delaware Ontario.
William was a member and past President of the Baconian club, former Scout and Venture Leader 3rd London Troop and was a member of the New York Academy of Sciences for many years
William first worked in a bank for 12 years, before becoming co owner and co Founder of George & William Construction Company with his brother-in- law George and then becoming owner and founder of Mid-Delaware Construction LTD, building many churches and schools.
William loved dancing with his wife and enjoyed his family and the family cottage that he built in Grand Bend for over 60 years.
William loved learning, farming, physics, and astronomy. He subscribed to ‘Scientific American’ for over 70 years. He had a thirst for knowledge and was learning right up to the end of his life.
William was a true pioneer making his own soap, butter, cottage cheese, and baking bread in the fireplace oven. He grew his own wheat on the family farm which he ground into flour to make bread. He practiced transcendental meditation since 1992.
William was a Jack of all trades and master of them all.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
